Luke Knauf came to WNMU as the offensive line coach in February 2011 and became the offensive coordinator in November 2012. Prior to WNMU, Knauf was the offensive line, tight ends, and assistant offensive coordinator at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. 
 
Since Knauf has taken over as the offensive line coach, the offensive line in 2012 at WNMU had increased rushing yardage by 50 yards from the year prior, scored over 29 points a game as a unit, racked up 440 yards per game, given up only 21 sacks in 458 attempts which is 1 sack per every 22 attempts which the sacks were cut in half from last season, has had numerous all-conference selections, and at one time during the season ranked #4 in the nation in Division 2 for total offense for consecutive weeks. 

During his time at Luther, Knauf had two all-conference honorable mention offensive linemen, one second team all-conference offensive lineman, and one first team all-conference offensive lineman. Knauf's offensive line helped the Norse improve their rushing game from 112 yards each contest in 2008 to 183 yards a game in 2010. Also the offensive lines gave up only 43 sacks in 30 games, averaging one sack allowed for every 22 pass attempts. 

Knauf began his coaching career at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he was the assistant offensive line coach. 

Knauf graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin where he played as a guard and center from 2003 to 2006. He then obtained a master's degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy in 2010. 

Before his college career, Knauf was a four-year letterwinner and three-time first team all-state performer as an offensive lineman and defensive lineman at Stratford High School in Wisconsin. He also garnered Offensive Player of the Year in the state as a senior.
