WNMU sophomore suffered a disappointing triple bogey 7 on her final hole to shoot 81 and let last year's champion, Kayla Cline, into the winner's circle for the second straight year in the Sun Country Women's Amateur Sunday in Socorro. Raymond led the field by a shot after Saturday's opening round and was in prime shape to take the title, but an errant drive found the out-of-bounds stakes on New Mexico Tech's short No. 18 and derailed her dreams of beating her old high school teammate.

WNMU sophomore Haley Raymond fired a 3-over 75 to take the first round lead in the Sun Country Amateur Women's Championship Saturday in Socorro. The inaugural event is being contested over a difficult par-72 New Mexico Tech Golf Course.
