The Mustangs shot 56.7 percent (17-30) in the second half at New Mexico Highlands University Saturday night. It still wasn’t good enough to overcome an eight-point deficit in the first half, but it was close. The Cowgirls defeated WNMU in the final ticks, 76-75. The two teams are now even in the RMAC with a 4-9 record.

Athlete of the Week
Zach Blair
Men's Golf
Junior Zach Blair (Roswell, NM, Roswell High School) opened up the spring season with a pair of one-under par 71s last Saturday in the inaugural New Mexico Collegiate Cup. Blair's impressive six-birdie, one-eagle showing was one shot off the winning pace set by NMSU's Ryan Word and Will Holdridge. The Collegiate Cup pitted WNMU’s men's team against golfers from UNM, NMSU, NMJC, NMMI, and University of the Southwest in a 36-hole clash over a difficult Sierra del Rio Golf Club near T or C.  Forty-five of New Mexico's best collegiate golfers participated.
