Kempton Jackson (Gallup, NM, Gallup High School) ran an impressive race at the 24th Arizona State University Invitational of the Desert Twilight Cross Country Festival in Mesa, Arizona. He finished 18th out of 89 runners in a time of 15:12.1. Jackson's score helped lead the Mustangs to a fifth place finish.
Nicole Luna (Pueblo of Laguna, NM, Laguna-Acoma High School) paced the Mustangs as the women finished sixth.
The ASU Invitational was part of the Twilight event under the lights at Toka Sticks Golf Course that featured over 2,400 runners in two college races, one community race and seven high school.
In the team standings, the ASC men scored a low 16 points with the top five being filled out by Pima CC (65), El Paso CC (77), Arizona (89) and WNMU (131). On the women's side, the Sun Devils pulled a close victory with 30 points and was followed in the top five by El Paso CC (31), Arizona (104), Pima CC (106) and CS East Bay (120).

Wilton Atkins (Wanganui, New Zealand, Wanganui Collegiate School, University of North Alabama, 44th, 16:14.6),
Tyler Pino (Acoma Pueblo, NM, Laguna-Acoma High School, 47th, 16:16.4), and
Donavan Jackson (Gallup, NM, Gallup High School, 66th, 17:01.8).
Luna finished the race in a time of 19:19.5, good for 33rd. She was followed by
Cassandra Sanchez (Acoma Pueblo, NM, Laguna Acoma High School, 34th, 19:20.3),
Amy Roybal (Pojoaque Valley, NM, Pojoaque Valley High School, 53rd, 21:09.7),
Sheilah Koskey (Eldoret, Kenya, Moi Forces Academy, 55th, 21:37.4), and first time runner Tana HOltorf (62nd, 23:33.2).
