Kaitlynn Barnes (Phoenix, AZ, Deer Valley High School) has been named this week's RMAC Softball Player of the Week, the RMAC announced today. With the bases loaded and a pitching change, Barnes hit a grand slam off of the first pitch in game two on Sunday to help the Mustangs to a 16-5 win over Nebraska- Kearney. She led the Mustangs in batting average (.727), home runs (four), runs batted in (11), and slugging percentage (1.909). Barnes was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases as she recorded three of the Mustangs' seven stolen bases. She was second on the team in putouts with 15. Of her 63 at-bats this season, Barnes has only posted three strikeouts. Overall this season, she is leading the team in home runs (7).
