The Western New Mexico tennis teams are picked first (men) and fifth (women) in the 2010 RMAC Preseason poll. The league's head coaches vote on the poll.
On the men's side, Mesa State is expected to come in second just edging past Metro State, who finished first in the conference last season. For the women, Mesa State and Nebraska-Kearney each had 11 points to tie for the top spot.
Making the preseason team on the men's side are
Yair Banuelos (Mexico City, Mexico, Universidal del Valle de Mexico, Riverside Community College) and
Kyle Lynch (Albuquerque, NM, New Mexico Military Institute High School). Banuelos advanced to the NCAA Division II Singles Division at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Small College Championships in Mobile, Alabama last fall and finished fourth. Lynch was named RMAC Men's Tennis Freshman of the Year last May. He was also placed on the First Team All-Conference list.
