Ashley Newell from Las Vegas, Nevada has signed her National Letter of Intent papers to compete for the Mustangs in the fall 2011 season, head tennis coach Erik Burton announced today.

"I am really happy that a very strong student-athlete like Ashley has signed with our program this early. It makes preparation very easy in the future," states Burton.

During Newell's sophomore year, playing in the number one singles spot for Silverado High School, her team made it to the regional finals. That year, she received the team's Most Valuable Player award and continued as the number one singles player the year after.

Newell has been ranked in the top three in Nevada for the past two years. She is currently training with No Quit Tennis Academy.
