The men's tennis team had a tough time getting by UC-San Diego Saturday. The Tritons cruised to a 7-2 victory at the Paseo Racquet Center, site of this weekend's tournament hosted by Grand Canyon.
The Mustangs started off strong with
Yair Banuelos (Mexico City, Mexico, Universidal del Valle de Mexico, Riverside Community College) and
Henning Thrien (Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Carl Friedrick Gaus Gymnasium, Hope International University) in the No. 1 spot during doubles. They defeated nationally-ranked duo Armaun Emami and Austin West, 8-4. Both Mustangs fell during singles competition however.
The only other point the Mustangs could muster up was a 6-3, 6-3 victory with
Kyle Lynch (Albuquerque, NM, New Mexico Military Institute High School) at the helm in the No. 2 position.
