Price and Lynch Named April's Student-Athletes of the Month

Left: Junior Glyniss Price; Right: Sophomore Kyle Lynch
Junior women's golfer Glynnis Price (Shiprock, NM, Shiprock High School, University of New Mexico) and sophomore men's tennis student-athlete Kyle Lynch (Albuquerque, NM, New Mexico Military Institute High School) are April's WNMU Student-Athletes of the Month.

Price was the only player to break par during either round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship held two weeks ago. She made five birdies en-route to a 1-under par round of 71 to help lift the Mustangs to second place (323) after one round of play. Price added six shots to her score on the second day but still took home the individual prize while the Mustangs held on to second place. Of the 36 holes, Price finished with a tournament high seven birdies.

Earlier in the month at the Grand Canyon University Invitational, Price finished third for the Mustangs after her 20-above par performance. She finished 46th overall.

In the month of April, Lynch was the only Mustang to defeat every opponent without having a match unfinished or retiring. He finished out the regular season with a perfect 9-0 in singles and 9-0 in doubles with partner Flavio Rueda (Mazatlan, Mexico/Universidad Autonoma de Durango). Actually, his singles matches weren't even close. He outscored his opponent 108-10 and skunked his opponents in the first three matches of the month.

Lynch played the majority of his singles matches at the No. 3 spot while playing the majority of his doubles matches at No. 2. For his efforts, Lynch earned a place on the All-RMAC First Team Singles list and also All-RMAC First Team Doubles accolades.
