Pulu Named RMAC/Baden Defensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second straight week, a Western New Mexico University volleyball player has landed on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference/Baden Player of the Week list with sophomore outside hitter Angelina Pulu (Long Beach, CA/Robert A. Millikan High School) (Long Beach, Calif.) being named the Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday.


Pulu led the Mustang attack both offensively and defensively against CSU-Pueblo and Western State. Pulu posted 27 kills for the week, including 15 big ones in a five-set thrilling victory against CSU-Pueblo. She also dished out four assists in that match and added two service aces on the week. Pulu also stood tall on the defensive end, collecting 39 total digs, with a high of 20 against Western State and five total blocks, including two solo blocks with one coming in each match this week.


For the season, she leads the team in kills with 391, service aces (26), and digs (384). In addition to those numbers, she has also added 55 total blocks, with nine solo, and 32 assists in playing 106 sets this season.
