Jean Benoit Belin (Nimes, France/Emmanuel d'Alzon High School) was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Belin went undefeated playing at the No. 5 slot, winning three matches, while also winning one at No. 4 to go 4-0 for the week. He also collected one win in doubles competition. Belin won a tough three-set match over Gillespie of Hawaii-Hilo, winning the final set 10-6. He followed that with another three-set win over Spizman of Grand Canyon, winning 10-4 in the last set. Rodrigo Almeida (Arapongas, Brazil/Nene Lourenco High School) against Scottsdale CC.
The Mustangs for the week went 2-2 in Phoenix, defeating Scottsdale CC (9-0) and Sonoma State (5-4) and dropped a pair of close matches against Hawaii-Hilo (5-4) and Grand Canyon (6-3).
WNMU will return to action Mar. 2 at home against the New Mexico Military Institute at 1 p.m.
