Carter Garners First-Team All-RMAC Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior men's basketball player Chad Carter (Tucson, AZ/Ironwood Ridge High School) was named to the First-Team All-RMAC squad Tuesday as announced by the conference office.

Carter played and started all 26 games, averaging 31.8 minutes per game, shooting 43.4 percent from the field, connected on 28 three-pointers, shot 76.6 from the charity stripe, averaged 16.6 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game and 1.7 steals per game. He  was named a Preseason All-RMAC selection, as he led the team in points (431), field goals made (154), defensive rebounds (105) and steals (44). He had eight games of 20-plus points, including a season-and career-high 34 at Colorado Mines, while also led or tied for the team-high in scoring in 14 games. He hit the game-winner against Hawaii-Hilo at the buzzer to send the Mustangs to the one-point win early in the season. The senior from Tucson, Ariz., was named the RMAC/Baden Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 11 and he was an All-RMAC Second-Team selection last year. He is second in program history (since 1999-2000) in points at 1,481, trailing only Matt Enriquez's 1,591.
