Head softball coach Scott Woodard announced Tuesday that pitcher Sarah Byrne will transfer to WNMU after two seasons with the Aggies at New Mexico State University.

Head softball coach Scott Woodard picked up three new transfer students who will play for him this next season. From Phoenix College, Bri Robles will fill a pitching slot. Ashly Eichenberger will hope to continue the strong play from Central Arizona College players. Former Mustangs Kristina Barr and Kortney Smith also came from the Central Arizona program. Future Mustang Jessica Apodaca will move a bit closer to family. Apodaca graduated from Mayfield High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico but has played the last two years at Trinidad State Junior College.

The NFCA has announced the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NCAA Division II All-Region teams. This year’s teams are comprised of 207 student-athletes from 91 institutions spread out over the eight NFCA regions, with a first and second team for each region. WNMU’s Kaitlynn Barnes (Phoenix, AZ, Deer Valley High School) was placed on the Central Region Second Team in the utility/non-pitcher position.
