Head softball coach Scott Woodard, along with the Mustang softball team, will add two more players to their 2010-2011 roster. Alisha Wyckoff (Lakeside, CA) and Kale Gahn (Phoenix, AZ) have committed to play for WNMU in the 2011 season.

Wyckoff, a switch hitter from the San Diego area, has the ability to play infield or outfield. Wyckoff will graduate in 2010 from El Capitan High School, where she has earned best offensive player for her team in 2007 and 2008 and All-League Second Team in 2008. She brings a strong academic background to the Mustangs as well. Planning to major in Psychology at WNMU, Wyckoff has maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout her high school career.

“We are excited to once again to be getting a player from the San Diego area. She can play both the middle infield spots and could end up in the outfield,” notes Woodard. “Alisha loves the game, plays hard, and fits the mold of the type of player I want here.”

Gahn, who plays infield for one of the best travel teams in the country Arizona Hotshots Gold, is a four-year letter winner. Graduating in 2010 from Pinnacle High School, Gahn was selected to the All-Region Second Team in 2008 and All-State Honorable Mention and All-Region First Team in 2009.

“Kale brings us an intelligent, hard working, and self-motivated person,” states Woodard. “She had Division I offers that she turned down to bring her talents to WNMU. She will be ready to help us next year.”

Coach Woodard believes that both players will be an asset to next year's team.
