WNMU's all-everything men's golfer Scott Crichton (Dalgety Bay, Scotland/Inverkeithing High School) fought hard to make it to the top 64 in the 288-player field in the British Amateur, but his dream was cut short in his second match as he was defeated 3 & 2. The 22-year-old Crichton, who shot 68 Tuesday around Muirfiield Golf Links, fell to England's Billy Hernstock. Muirfield is in the British Open rotation and has seen such winners as Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watso,n and Lee Trevino in years past.
