Mustangs Win Tournament, Conference

For another year, the women's golf team walked away with the RMAC Championship. The Mustangs took first in the RMAC Championship Tournament Tuesday, 14 shots ahead of Mesa State, and then was on top on the rankings for the overall RMAC regular season title with 28 points, which equaled four first place finishes throughout the year.

For the overall regular season title, each team received one (1) point for every RMAC team they defeat at each of the four mandatory events. The team that finished first defeated seven (7) teams and received seven (7) points, the second place team received six (6) points, etc. The aggregate point total of the four tournaments determined the RMAC regular season champion.

WNMU's Jessica Dailleboust (Albuquerque, NM, Hope High School, New Mexico State University) shared the top tournament spot with Jessica Berve of Mesa State. They both had a two-round total of 158 to earn MVP and All-Tournament Team recognition. Berve was surrounded by two other purple shirts in the All-Tournament Team picture. Glynnis Price (Shiprock, NM, Shiprock High School, University of New Mexico) (4th, 79-81–160) and Faylyn Beyale (Fruitland, NM, Kirtland Central High School, --) (5th, 82-79–161) also received certificates.

Haley Raymond (Socorro, NM, Socorro High School) rounded out the top-10 with her solid first round score of 79. She finished at 164. Carissa Schwalm (Las Cruces, NM, Mayfield High School) carded an 83 and 86 to finish in 13th.
