COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three Western New Mexico University men's golfers were named to the All-RMAC Academic Teams as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Senior
Michael Lopez (Phoenix, AZ/North High School) and junior
Anders Friman (Stockholm, Sweden/Hersby Gymnasium) were named to the Second-Team, while sophomore
Oscar Sachs (Auckland, New Zealand/St. Kentigern High School) landed on the Honor Roll.
Lopez from Phoenix, Ariz., posted a 3.44 GPA and is majoring in business. He has played 28 rounds this season and posted one top-five finish and three top-ten on varsity and also has a top-five finish on junior varsity when competing in the Cactus Thaw! He held a 76.6 stroke average.
Friman from Stockholm, Sweden, posted a 3.89 GPA and is majoring in business. He competed in 19 rounds this season and in seven total events held an 81.8 stroke average.
Sachs from Auckland, New Zealand, posted a 3.52 GPA and is majoring in business. He competed in 16 rounds this season and in six total events posting a 76.5 stroke average.
WNMU will be in action this coming Monday through Wednesday when they will compete in the NCAA West/Central Super Regional hosted by Grand Canyon University and held at the Wigwam Golf Course (gold).
